Course Overview

Move your welding career forward with The Welding Institute’s (TWI's) BS4872 welding qualification. The course comprises Parts 1 and 2 testing to enable candidates who already have knowledge of welding to be able to comply with industry standards. 0nce you successfully complete the course you will effectively receive the BS4872 welder qualification code, which proves you have reached the required standard.

Entry Requirements

You should already have some welding skills (or have completed the appropriate preparation course) and be ready to achieve the level needed to comply with industry standards.

Career Options and Progression

Once you successfully complete the course, you will receive the TWI-accredited BS4872 welder qualification code, which proves you have reached the required standard. This is an industry-recognised qualification that will enable you to move your career forward.

Assessment Methods

The course requires you to produce a series of welds to BS4872 standard using your preferred procedure and material.

Each weld you produce will be visually inspected prior to the final assessment taking place.

Teaching and Learning Methods

The course consists of practical testing carried out in the College's welding workshop under the supervision of a TWI-accredited assessor.
