Course Overview

Begin your career in Engineering with this Level 2 course. The focus is on developing your knowledge application, your experimental and practical engineering techniques, and preparing you to professionally present your findings.

You will also work towards achieving your GCSEs in Maths and English so that by the end of course you are fully prepared to progress to one of our Level 3 options.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade 3, including English and Mathematics. You will have to work towards re-sitting Maths and English as part of your main study programme - along with the following:         

  • A successful interview with a tutor                                
  • The ability to study independently                            
  • A genuine interest in the subject                                          
  • Good communication skills                                               
  • Hardworking approach towards the industry

Career Options and Progression

Successful completion of this course will provide you with a Level 2 First Certificate in Engineering.

The next stage in your journey to becoming a fully qualified engineer is the Level 3 Extended Certificate.

Assessment Methods

During each module you will undertake a range of assignments, designed to assess your skills, experience and knowledge.

These will consist of practical-based studies, research, written assignments, and individual and group presentations.
