Engineering Skills for Oil and Gas Industries (Plate Work and Pipework Fabrication Pathway) - Level 2

Course Overview

The Performing Engineering Operations Level 2 Diploma is awarded by EAL SEMTA. This qualification is for anyone wishing to learn a good basic grounding in key engineering principles associated with the oil and gas industry.

The course will give you a good foundation to continue to level 3 or enter into employment with the oil and gas or engineering industry.

The course is made up of three mandatory units and three optional units but in order to cater for all we have pathways for welding MMA, MIG, TIG, MAG, plate fitting and pipework fabrication and mechanical electrical and hydraulic maintenance.

The course will feature guest speakers from oil and gas companies, some enrichment visits to energy companies and a speed interviewing, face to face, meet the employers event towards the end of the programme.

Engineering Skills for Oil and Gas Industries - Level 3

Course Overview

Following on from the Level 2 Diploma this course covers the fundamental practical and theoretical skill set needed at a foundation level for entry into the oil and gas or engineering industry.

It covers welding MIG, TIG, MAG and MMA, plate work and pipework fabrication and mechanical maintenance at an advanced craft level. This skill set will lead to employment or progression to a foundation engineering degree.

This course is for anyone wishing to learn a good basic grounding in key engineering principles associated within the oil and gas industry.

The course will include developmental maths and English.

Site visits will be arranged to employers in the oil and gas or engineering industry and guest speakers will visit the Lancashire Energy HQ to talk about employment and careers.

Renewable Energy Engineering - Level 2

Course Overview

This Level 2 Renewable Energy Diploma is accredited by NCFE and is an introduction to the renewables energy industry. Pathways on this one year programme include wind, wave, tidal, solar, hydroelectric and energy from waste and energy conservation.

With the Fylde coast already boasting 89 energy sector businesses now is a great time to train to move in to the renewables energy industry.

This course is aimed at school leavers aged 16 to 18 but is also open to adult students aged 19 and over looking to change career or up skill.

The course of study will be supported by industry site visits and guest speakers from the renewables industry including manufacturers and potential employers.

Renewable Energy Engineering - Level 3

Course Overview

This Level 3 Renewable Energy Engineering Diploma is accredited by NCFE. This course provides you with a solid grounding and skills at advanced craft level to potentially join one of the 89 energy sectors within the Fylde coast. Perhaps your interest is wind farm technology and you would like to gain the skills to enable you to become a wind farm technician on or offshore. You may wish to learn about tidal energy and possibly get involved with the Fleetwood tidal barrage which is currently being planned at the river estuary.
