At Lancashire Energy HQ (LEHQ), we offer a growing portfolio of training programmes for people aged 16 and upwards, who want to develop their careers in the energy industry.
LEHQ is a new £10.7m purpose-built facility, equipped with industry-standard resources and staffed by experts to drive excellence in energy training standards.
Our developing curriculum aligns closely to the needs of employers, who are integral to supporting us evolve LEHQ into a one-stop-shop for all of the energy sector’s training needs.
Strong employer relationships contribute to continuously developing skills and education within the energy sector as a whole.
Lancashire Energy HQ (LEHQ) aims to deliver the next generation of engineers and technicians through renewable and low-carbon energy generation as well as traditional oil and gas training and skills.
Developed by B&FC and co-funded by the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership, the £10.7m facility opened in September 2017 at the newly formed Enterprise Zone at Blackpool Airport.
With nuclear, tidal, wave and wind technologies at the forefront of energy development, the Fylde Coast is ideally positioned - both geographically and geologically - to drive and capitalise on this burgeoning industry.
The region is already home to 80 energy sector businesses. With the huge potential for renewable tide, wind and wave power generation, the capacity for commercial growth is significant.
With that growth comes job creation. By developing LEHQ, we can ensure we develop a suitably skilled local workforce capable of sustaining growth and safeguarding the region’s future prosperity.
